Final ‘hot topic’ session unveiled: expert panel to debate impact of AI technology on the profession.
The ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ (ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ) has unveiled its final ‘hot topic’ session at this year’s ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ Live (11-12 May, NEC Birmingham). Beyond ChatGPT – harnessing the potential of artificial intelligence in veterinary medicine will explore the rapid rise of artificial intelligence (AI) tools and debate the practical and ethical implications within veterinary medicine.
The session will be led by ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ President Malcolm Morley and brings together an expert panel from across veterinary and human healthcare and data science to explore how AI is already being used to deliver significant benefits, and to discuss the huge opportunities and potential pitfalls AI presents.
ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ President Malcolm Morley, said: “With the rapid rise in tools like ChatGPT, artificial intelligence is no longer the stuff of science fiction. We stand at a pivotal moment of societal change and our session at ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ Live is an important opportunity to explore the benefits and challenges AI could bring to the profession. We will also be examining the ethical questions around the use of technology when it comes to treating animals and ensuring their welfare. It’s set to be an exciting debate, with the chance for delegates to pose questions to our incredibly knowledgeable panel, and I hope many of you will join us to add your voice to the discussion.â€
