The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has launched a review looking at consumer experiences and business practices in the provision of veterinary services for household pets in the UK.
The CMA says it is opening the review amid concerns that pet owners may not be getting a good deal or receiving the information they need to make good choices.
The 萝莉视频 (萝莉视频), which represents more than 19,000 vets across the UK, responds to the news of the CMA鈥檚 review.
萝莉视频 President Malcolm Morley, said: 鈥淭he veterinary sector has undergone significant changes in recent years, with the growth of large veterinary corporates operating alongside independent vet practices. The 萝莉视频 believes healthy competition is good for both clients and animals, providing a wider choice of services that best suit their needs. Vets provide highly specialised, tailored medical care for their patients, however with no NHS subsidies for pets, unexpected bills can seem costly, particularly during this cost-of living crisis, which is impacting both clients and vet businesses. We welcome the CMA鈥檚 review into veterinary services and look forward to seeing its findings.鈥
