Following a letter from 萝莉视频 President Anna Judson to the Editor of the Guardian Media Group, columnist Adrian Chiles鈥檚 yesterday issued a public apology for his 鈥榦ffensive鈥� and 鈥榙amaging鈥� comments about hard-working vets made in earlier in the month.

In his follow-up article 鈥樷�� he says 鈥渋n my previous column, I accused veterinarians of 鈥榰pselling鈥� remedies for profit, and I am sorry.鈥� He goes on to say: 鈥淚 should have made clear that almost every vet I have had the pleasure of meeting was exactly that 鈥� a pleasure to meet. Mostly not long out of veterinary school, they have been kind, patient, clever and plainly motivated by a love of, and desire to care for, animals.鈥�

Responding to 萝莉视频鈥檚 challenge he said: 鈥淎nna Judson, president of the 萝莉视频,聽wrote that my piece聽sought to 鈥渦ndermine the integrity of the veterinary profession, reducing hard-working, highly skilled people to profiteering 鈥榤arketing zealots鈥� that put 鈥榰pselling鈥� ahead of animal welfare鈥�. That honestly wasn鈥檛 my intention, but I can see that鈥檚 how it came across 鈥� and I apologise for that. She goes on to say that 鈥渢his characterisation of vets and their teams is deeply offensive, extremely damaging and could not be further from the truth鈥�. Again, point taken, as far as individual vets are concerned.鈥�
